Happy Birthday Rainbow Refugees NI!

Rainbow Refugees NI turned 2 years of age this June and celebrates with a rainbow birthday cake, music, dance, food and lots of members, participants and friends.

We cannot believe it has been two years since we started Rainbow Refugees NI in June 2022. Two years of queer love and joy filled with fun, tears, challenges and so many more reasons why we need this group in Northern Ireland.

This second anniversary gave us time to reflect on the past two years and how far we have come as a group: 2 Belfast Pride Parades and 1 in Derry, 2 residentials at Corrymeela, a trip to the Marble Arch Caves, several fun outings across Belfast, talks and presentations from a range of service providers, with over 50 new people from over 20 countries, lots of solidarity, mutual support and friendships made, and so much more!

Our little group keeps growing and growing and each person brings their unique stories, talents, skills and personality. This makes a wonderful, colourful family and we cannot wait what the next year will bring for us.

As always, we want to give a massive thanks to all of our Friends, Supporters and people who have donated and organised fundraisers. We could not have made it without you.
